James BaileyPT, DPT, TPS
James was raised in Miami, Oklahoma where he attended Miami High School, graduating in 2003. After high school, he went on to Northeastern A&M for his Associates Degree and completed his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in 2009 from the University of Oklahoma.
James received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2011. While in school, James had a variety of clinical rotations, including a spine specialty clinic, outpatient orthopedics, and hospital-based rehabilitation.
Since graduation, James has had a range of work experiences in outpatient orthopedics, home health, and treatment in the tribal care setting. He has pursued a certification as a Therapeutic Pain Specialist through the International Spine and Pain Institute, completing his coursework in 2016. He plans to pursue a Therapeutic Pain Science Fellowship to elevate his clinical skills to further benefit his patients. James has interests in post-surgical care, chronic pain, and spinal dysfunctions.
James is a Captain in the Army National Guard and is the only physical therapist in the state of Oklahoma for this branch of the Guard since 2011. He has served as a Platoon Leader for 1.5 years, coordinating medical training for all medical personnel and patient administration. His experience through the National Guard is unique but provides alternative training in leadership and clinical skills that have benefitted his role as a supervising physical therapist as a civilian.
James is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA) with memberships in the orthopedic and private practice specialty groups.
He currently lives in Shawnee, OK with his wife, Meredith, and daughter, Blair. He likes to be outdoors, exercise, spend time with his friends and family, and cheer on the Sooners and the Thunder.
