  • Preston Runyan

    Preston RunyanPT, DPT, OCS

Preston was raised in Altus. He was active in football, basketball, and track for the Altus Bulldogs. He was also a percussionist in his mother’s high school band. After high school, he attended the University of Central Oklahoma on a football scholarship as a wide receiver.

After rehabbing from a shoulder surgery in high school and seeing the benefits of PT, Preston decided that physical therapy was the career for him. Preston received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health & Fitness Management in 2013 and was accepted into the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center’s Physical Therapy program, graduating in 2016 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During physical therapy school, Preston completed clinical internships with Physical Therapy Central of Norman, OU Medical Center, and Michael Johnson Performance in McKinney, TX. These experiences provided an excellent background in orthopedics and sports injuries and allowed him to work with patients of various backgrounds and skillsets with a wide variety of diagnoses.

Preston is currently an active member of both the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA). His interests include sports rehab, orthopaedics, manual therapy, and injury prevention. Preston is in this process of taking his Manual Physical Therapy Certification through Evidence in Motion and is planning to pursue a board certification as a sports clinical specialist (SCS) to develop his physical therapy skills to effectively evaluate and treat patients.

Outside of the clinic, Preston enjoys attending OU football games and OKC Thunder games. Boomer Sooner!
