Jake ShockleyPT, MPT, OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT
Jake grew up in Edmond, OK with his younger siblings and graduated from Edmond Santa Fe High School. During high school he found his passion for extreme sports such as motocross and wakeboarding. He attended the University of Oklahoma and achieved his Bachelors of Science degree in Health studies in 2005. In 2007 he earned his Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and was on the Dean’s honor roll.
Upon graduating physical therapy school, Jake relocated to Dallas, Texas where he gained 4 years experience treating spinal and orthopaedic dysfunction. In 2008, Jake entered the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) program to become certified in orthopaedic manual/manipulative therapy (COMT). To further excel his knowledge in physical therapy Jake earned his Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification in 2010. He is currently finalizing his fellowship requirements with NAIOMT, which involves research in the thoracic spine. /p>
Jake has a strong passion towards manual therapy and specializes in orthopaedic spinal and extremity dysfunction. Trigger point dry needling is another treatment option Jake enjoys utilizing as it has been shown to be highly effective for reducing pain. Jake has been a valued member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 2004. He obtained his APTA clinical instructor certification in 2009 and is currently a member of the APTA orthopaedic section. Apart from patient care, Jake highly enjoys teaching physical therapy students in the clinical setting.
Jake is an avid OU fan and spends his free time working out, mountain bike riding, traveling with his friends and family, and enjoying life outdoors. Jake lives with his dear wife Holly who is currently in school to become a licensed family and marriage therapist.
Hayden DaughertyPT, DPT
Hayden grew up in Elk City, Oklahoma where he graduated from Elk City High School in 2007. He played baseball and basketball in high school, earning a college baseball scholarship at the end of his senior year. He continued his education and baseball career at Garden City Community College from 2007 to 2009 and then at the University of Texas-Pan American from 2009 to 2011. Hayden graduated from UTPA Magna Cum Laude in 2011 with his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology.
Hayden went on to earn his Doctor of Physical therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2015, receiving the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Practice during his final year. He is a member of the orthopedic section of the APTA and his professional interests include orthopedic physical therapy, manual therapy, dry needling, spinal manipulation, and sports rehabilitation. He completed an advanced manual therapy certification program through Evidence In Motion in January 2017 and plans to sit for the Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) examination in March 2017.
Outside of physical therapy, Hayden is an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan, golfer and guitar player. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, watching sports, and being outdoors. Hayden and his wife Kristin, who is also a physical therapist, married in September of 2015 and live in Oklahoma City.
