Katie GallagherPT, DPT, OCS, ATC, AIB-VR
Katie was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up with her three sisters – all of who attended the Philadelphia High School for Girls. In high school, Katie played field hockey, basketball, softball, soccer and also was on the swim team.
Katie continued playing softball in college at Lock Haven University of PA, where she majored in Health Sciences with an Athletic Training concentration. Katie battled injuries throughout her collegiate career and developed a relationship with a PT clinic, where she got her first tech job in 2002 during school breaks. Katie became a certified athletic trainer in 2004, working primarily at a high school and in a physical therapy clinic. Katie also had the opportunity to work with local colleges and a professional softball team, the Philadelphia Force. Katie moved to Florida in 2007, continuing as a school athletic trainer. Her desire to learn more inspired a change in career paths to physical therapy and she attended the University Saint Augustine Flex DPT program. After PT school, she worked for an outpatient physical therapy company and became the director of their secondary clinic. Katie broadened her experience working on weekends at an acute hospital setting and in home health. After moving to Oklahoma with her wife in August 2015, Katie worked for a skilled nursing facility, until her desire to grow and learn more drove her back to the outpatient physical therapy world with PT Central.
Katie has been the multi-site travel physical therapist for PT Central the past year- covering most of the clinics around the Oklahoma City – area. Katie is proud to bring PT Central to Stillwater to serve an amazing community and surrounding area with their physical therapy needs.
Katie is an active member in both American Physical Therapy Association and National Athletic Trainers Association. In 2014, Katie became certified in vestibular rehabilitation by the American Institute of Balance. In 2017, Katie became an APTA Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She plans to complete her Manual Therapy Certification through University of St. Augustine in the near future.
Katie currently resides in Stillwater with her wife, 3 dogs, red eared slider turtle, and African spurred tortoise. Her wife Stacie is the assistant softball coach for OSU, therefore, Katie is likely to be found cheering on the OSU Cowgirl Softball team. Off the softball field, she enjoys photography, watching movies, crafting, cheering on Oklahoma State, and traveling around America to see friends and family. Katie is excited she s finally able to connect herself fully with the Stillwater community and assist with improving their health and wellness. Go Pokes!
