Amy was born and raised in Northwest Oklahoma City, where she atte
nded Putnam City North High School as a proud Panther. She now resides in Moore, OK despite the looming fear of constantly being swept away in a tornado. Her hobbies include but are not limited to running, swimming, traveling with family, playing sports with her son, and taking her Lab named MarLee for long walks around the neighborhood ponds in an effort to show the geese she won’t be intimidated. With that said, her favorite animal is in fact the domestic duck as it has within its capacity the hat trick of self-transportation.
Amy graduated in 2003 from Wichita State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. She speaks virtually no Spanish at this time. She played four years of Division 1 collegiate golf for WSU and was a member of the NCAA student-advisory committee. Her collegiate career in golf has yielded many post-graduate opportunities on the golf course, including the foundation of her “Chicka Girls Golf Club” that teaches females the fundamentals of golf and how the game is beneficial in business and as a life-long sport. She is a self-proclaimed Tiger Woods enthusiast and is convinced without hesitation that he is the greatest golfer of all time. Arguments unwelcomed at this time. She went on to earn her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2007 and is now proud to call herself a Shocker and a Sooner!
Amy has been an active member of the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association since 2006. She has served one two-year term as a recruiting officer, one two-year term as the Vice Chair for the OPTA’s Western District, and one two-year term as the 2nd Vice President of the OPTA. She is considering running for President of the United States but fears that she wouldn’t interview well and therefore has opted to decline the opportunity at this time.
In 2018, Amy designed and produced the first ever Lower Extremity Sling device (LE Sling, LLC) which uses a simple bungee system to help support the leg after a procedure, reduce painful walking, and assist in the forward propulsion of gait. You can learn more about the LE Sling at www.legsling.com or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LEGsling/
Amy became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2009. She opened PTC of Chickasha in 2009 and has gone on to co-own the Blanchard, NW OKC, and North Edmond clinics. In 2015, she became the Director of Business Development for the company and is proud to be able to call herself both a physical therapist and an official spokesperson for an AmaZing company. Amy is a proud advocate for her friends at the Cavett Kids foundation and loves supporting children and young adults that have terminal and/or life-threatening illnesses. Amy loves working for PTC and hopes that one day the company can be featured on the cover of something great, like Time, Forbes, or maybe something truly profound like People Magazine. For now, she is enjoying her roles at both PT Central, LE Sling, and trying to raise a gentleman. She is most hopeful that someday she may break the internet with an embarrassing video of her mother on a water slide. She can be reached any time at [email protected] or by cell (405) 822-9666.
