OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) – There are still a lot of unknowns when it comes to the long-term effects of COVID. An estimated 10 million Americans are suffering from “long haulers disease.”

We’ve got your back with how physical therapy can play an important role if you are still suffering.

It’s been almost 6 months since Shannon Gray was hospitalized with coronavirus.

“It was scary,” said Gray. “And I did think, ‘Am I even going to get to see my kids again?'”

She pulled through, but COVID left behind a slew of issues, from dizziness to heart and lung issues.

“I’m seeing a neurologist, seeing a cardiologist,” said Gray. “I have onset of breathing issues continuously.”

Along with her twice-weekly doctors’ appointments are visits to Physical Therapy Central. Her therapist, Carrie Galyon, shares a connection. She’s also a covid long hauler.

“I have had a lot of the symptoms. And I can relate to my patients,” said Galyon. “And that’s where we focus here.”
