The physical therapists at Physical Therapy Central all have advanced physical therapy degrees at either the masters or doctorate level. This allows the therapists to provide efficient and effective treatment outcomes for the patients. Each member of the staff completes a minimum of 40 continuing education hours per year to stay at the top of their field. |

Jamie Wyrick, PT, MPT, OCS After helping the women’s basketball team advance to the national championship game in 2002, Jamie earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of Oklahoma in 2003, graduating with distinction. In May of 2007, she graduated with outstanding distinction from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center with a Masters in Physical Therapy. Jamie has been involved in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA) since 2004 and is currently a member of the women’s health, orthopedic and sports physical therapy sections of the APTA. In 2008, she became an APTA credentialed clinical instructor. Jamie is co-owner of the Oklahoma City clinic. Jamie’s areas of interest include post-op orthopedics rehabilitation, prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries, spinal dysfunction, women’s health, and manual therapy. Jamie has attended several orthopedic and manual therapy based continuing education courses. She has also completed APTA’s Level One Pre-and Postpartum Physical Therapy coursework and is working towards the Section on Women’s Health CAPP certification. In addition Jamie enjoys hanging out with her husband Patrick, OU athletics, running, and playing a variety of sports in her spare time. |

Jennifer Edwards, PT, MPT Earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma, graduating with distinction, in 2004. Earned her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center 2007, and was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll each year. |
Shawn Houck, PT After graduating with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 2008 with his Bachelor of Science in Health Studies, Shawn received his Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in May of 2010. His completion of two clinical internships with Physical Therapy Central (Newcastle, Oklahoma City) and a final internship at Ben Hogan Sports Therapy Institute in Ft. Worth, TX provided an excellent background in orthopedics and allowed to him to experience a wide variety of patient diagnoses and treatment methods. In his final year, he was selected by the faculty to receive the 2009-2010 OUHSC Dean's Award for Clinical Excellence. Shawn has been actively involved in APTA and OPTA since 2009, and is an active member of the APTA Sports Therapy Section. His areas of interest include manual therapy, evaluation/treatment of general orthopedic conditions, prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries, and spinal dysfunction. Outside of the clinic, Shawn enjoys spending time with his wonderful family and friends, and never misses a chance to get out and play the great game of golf. |

Mark Anderson, PT, PhD, ATC Earned a BS in physical therapy at the University of Kansas in 1975, an MS in physical education at Fort Hays State University in 1979, and a PhD in Sports Medicine at the University of Virginia in 1988. Mark is a licensed physical therapist, a certified athletic trainer, and a certified instructor for the American Red Cross Emergency Response course. He is an Associate Professor of Physical Therapy at OU Health Sciences Center, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Health and Exercise Science at OU Norman. For many years he has treated patients at OU Medical Center, both at Oklahoma Center for Athletes and Children's Hospital. He continues to serve as the Medical Director of the Endeavor Games for Physically Disabled Athletes, held annually in Edmond, and was a member of the medical staff for the U.S. Paralympic teams at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. He also was Head Athletic Trainer for the 2005 NCAA Wrestling Championships held in Oklahoma City, and served on the medical staff of the 2006 Senior PGA Golf Championship, held in Edmond. He has served on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy, and has been primary faculty for more than 50 continuing education courses on orthopaedics and sports medicine. Mark is the #1 fan of the KU Jayhawks, and in his spare time performs in community theatre in the Oklahoma City area. |
