Our Staff: Chickasha Clinic


The physical therapists at Physical Therapy Central all have advanced physical therapy degrees at either the masters or doctorate level. This allows the therapists to provide efficient and effective treatment outcomes for the patients. Each member of the staff completes a minimum of 40 continuing education hours per year to stay at the top of their field.

 

Amy Lee, PT, MPT, OCS
Board Certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy

Amy was born and raised in North Oklahoma City. She now resides in Moore, where she enjoys running, cycling, swimming with her dog Merky, and playing golf. She also loves to travel and participate in charity runs, bike races, and triathlons.    

Amy graduated in 2003 from Wichita State University with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. She played four years of division I collegiate golf for WSU and was a member of the NCAA student-advisory committee. She went on to earn her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2007.

Amy has been an active member of the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association since 2006. She serves as a recruiting officer for the OPTA’s Western District. She has frequently donated her time to the Salvation Army and enjoys participating in community outreach programs aimed at educating children and adults the importance of physical education and proper nutrition.

Her areas of interest include sports rehabilitation, nutrition, physical activity for children, and manual therapy of the spine. Amy also has extensive experience with post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation. She has recently become a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Currently, there are fewer than 30 Physical Therapists who have obtained the Orthopedic Certification in the State of Oklahoma. We are proud to say the Physical Therapy Central team currently has 9 Board Certified Orthopedic Specialists.

Christy Brashares

Christy Brashares, MPT

Christy was born and raised in a suburb north of Houston known as The Woodlands, Texas, along with an identical twin sister and two older sisters.

Growing up, Christy participated in numerous sports including competitive swimming, gymnastics, cheerleading, dance, basketball, softball, and cross country. She attended The Woodlands High School where she lettered four years as a dancer on The Woodlands High School Highstepper dance team.

Christy discovered her interest in physical therapy in seventh grade after a sports injury that required her to participate in rehab. In high school, she pursued learning more about physical therapy by completing an internship at a local hospital with an adjacent outpatient physical therapy clinic.

Christy attended The University of Oklahoma for her undergraduate studies and graduated with distinction in 2008 with a Bachelors degree in Health Studies. She earned her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2010 where she was named to the Dean's Honor Roll. Christy now enjoys living in the Oklahoma City area along with her parents and twin sister, while her older sisters ventured off to Denver, CO, and Botswana Africa.

Her areas of interest include sports injuries and rehabilitation, manual therapy, pediatric physical therapy, outpatient orthopaedics, and spinal dysfunction.

Christy is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association.

Outside of work, Christy volunteers with local ballet companies including the Tulsa Ballet and Oklahoma City Ballet. She also provides physical therapy for sporting events for athletes with disabilities including volunteering on the medical staff since 2008 for the Endeavor Games held in Edmond, OK, for Physically Disabled Athletes.

In her free time, Christy enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, her twin sister, her friends, and her parents. She loves running outside for exercise and participating in races including the OKC Memorial Half Marathon and the Tulsa Run. Christy enjoys health/fitness, being outside, water skiing and wakeboarding, snow skiing, dancing, cooking/baking, and volunteering at her church.
